Starved Rock Kennel Club (SRKC) offers Conformation
Classes (dog show training), Puppy Class, Novice Obedience, and Beginning and
Intermediate Advanced Classes, as well as the Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
course. All classes, except the CGC are offered every eight weeks year round
and are one hour in length.

CONFORMATION
- Showing your own dog - or would like to?
Learn and understand the basics of competing at a dog show. SRKC's
Conformation Classes prepare both the handler and the dog to compete
sucessfully in the show rings. Handling is a process of trial and
error and many many hours of practice!!! Our classes will allow
you to work on proper stacking, gaiting and presentation of your dog
whether a novice or someone already experienced. |

Puppies eight (8) weeks up to six (6) month
of age are eligible to enroll in the
PUPPY CLASS. This class teaches
socialization, beginning simple obedience, and the handler skills
necessary to raise a well behaved canine companion. The class is
structured with the really young puppy in mind and provides both floor
work and information to the owner. Mondays - 6:30pm. |

Dogs six (6)
months of age or older can join the
Novice Obedience Class. This class
is designed for beginner dogs and emphasizes the skills that form the
foundation for essential Canine Training that will produce a well
behaved canine companion. Dogs passing this class may take the Canine
Good Citizen Course (CGC) offered yearly by SRKC. Mondays - 7:30pm |

Beginning
and Intermediate Advanced Class
is open to those who graduate from the
Novice Obedience Class and those that can show that they have the basic
skills taught in that class. This class teaches off-leash work,
introduces Agility and Rally, and starts the participant on Open and
Utility work. Beginning jumping and retrieving also are taught.
