Starved Rock Kennel Club (SRKC) offers Conformation Classes (dog show handling), Obedience Classes (Puppy, Novice, Beginning Advanced), Star Puppy Program and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) , and new Advanced CGCA course. All classes except Star Puppy/CGC are offered every six (6) weeks year round and are one hour in length.Classes are held at the Ottawa Lions Club building, 501 Bellevue Avenue, Ottawa, IL. Look for the yellow "Lions" sign on the edge of street opposite Walsh Park.

COURSES:
- CONFORMATION ***We are not offering conformation classes at this time*** Showing your own dog at dog shows - or would like to? Learn and understand the basics of competing at a dog show. SRKC's classes prepare both the handler and the dog to compete successfully in the show rings. Handling is a process of trial and error and many, many hours of practice!!. Our classes will allow you to work on proper stacking, gaiting and presentation of your dog whether a novice or someone already experienced.
- PUPPY CLASS & PUPPY MANNERS / Monday 5:30-6:30pm - Puppies ten (10) weeks up to six (6) months of age are eligible for this class. This class teaches socialization, beginning simple obedience, and the handler skills necessary to raise a well behaved canine companion. The class is structured with the really young puppy in mind and provides both floor work and information important to the owner. Star Puppy program is offered individually as an added feature of this class (for an additional fee).
- BEGINNING OBEDIENCE SOLUTIONS / Monday 6:30-7:30pm - Dogs six (6+) months of age or older can join this class. It is designed for beginning dogs and emphasizes the skills that form the foundation for essential Canine Training that will produce a well behaved canine companion,. Dogs passing this class may take the Canine Good Citizen Course (CGC) offered twice yearly by SRKC.
- ADVANCED SKILLS / Monday 7:30-8:30pm - This class is open to those who graduate from the Beginning Obedience Class or those that show that they have the basic skills taught in that class. This class teaches off-leash work, introduces Rally and Agility, and starts the participant on Open/Utility work; beginning jumping and retrieving are also taught. Trick Class, as well as Canine Good Citizen (CGC) will also be offered in this section during specific 6 week time frames.

- PUPPY - $90 for six weeks of class
- NOVICE - $120 for six weeks of class
- ADVANCED - $90 for 6 weeks of class
- CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC) - $50 for 3 weeks of class (call for schedule of next offering)
