MEMBERSHIP IN STARVED ROCK KENNEL CLUB
Starved Rock Kennel Club, Inc. membership is open to all persons aged 18 or older. A junior membership is open to those under 18 who have a parent or guardian that is a member. Ownership of an AKC registered dog is not required, in fact having a dog or any other animal is not required.
The Starved Rock Kennel Club relies on members who volunteer their time to be able to function as sanctioned Kennel Club under the A.K.C. We need all members to participate in some of our activities throughout the year. These include dog shows, fund raising activities, other public events, etc. Some members participate in all events and some participate in only a few.
Participation in these events is both fun and rewarding. The more active our members are, the more fun we can have as a club. Some of the club activities have included trips for the human members to shop in Galena, as well as trips with our four legged friends to Chicago, or closer trips to the areas wonderful parks. These are only a few of the possible things that we have done when all of the “work” involved in being a club was taken care of.
We are looking forward to new ideas and trying new things. We welcome participation by all of our members and are excited to have new members with new ideas join us.
We have made membership an easy process. Follow these simple steps.
1) To receive an application fill out a member interest form available online or at class. You will then be given or emailed an application for membership.
2) Have two members sponsor you (Once you start the process we can help with finding sponsors. You don’t need to know anyone in the club at first to join.)
3) Attend one club meeting and/or function.
4) At the first meeting your application will be read. At the second meeting your application will be voted upon by the general membership.
5) Start working with members at events, enjoying member benefits and more importantly having fun with other members of the Starved Rock Kennel Club.
